I’m a 40-something multimedia creator from New York. By trade I’ve been a journalist and a business strategist; at my core I’m just a curious person who’s on a never-ending journey to learn more about myself and the world around me, and to try my best to do the right thing. Something in me always drives me to share information and create content, so if you land on a website I made at some point over my lifetime, that’s the reason!
What you’ll find here
This site is my place to share thoughts, ideas, reflections, and observations from my life and adventures—whether it’s learning to ride a wave, wandering into the wilderness or jumping in my car and driving 11 hours to see the Knicks play in another city (LET’S GO KNICKS!).
It’s not quite my journal, which is just for me whereas I see value in sharing the things I published here with people who might need them some moment when they find themselves thinking, feeling, or trying to do the same thing I did. It’s also not a publication I’m trying to build an audience for, or that I expect people to comeback to and read every post of.
This site is the one place where I’m not strategizing or optimizing for anything, and where I’m not making it for a specific type of reader. I just write when I’m moved to share. So if you’re here, I hope you enjoy!
What you won’t find here
As a former working journalist I operate by a certain set of principles and code of ethics.
This is a personal blog and includes feelings, thoughts and interpretations that I do not consider “reporting” in any way. To the extent that my writing includes information, however, I do my best to factcheck because I do not want to spread misinformation.
What this means: stories that are intertwined with widely known world events, places that other people may go to, people that others may be familiar with, all get a verification to ensure I’m not remembering incorrectly or dramatizing my stories with fake details or fake context.

I endeavor as much as possible to “show” rather than “tell” in my writing style because I believe that observations that allow my readers to feel their own feelings have more value than telling people how they should feel—even when I’m sharing my own feelings.
